Today (14/6), the EITF delegation inspected the “Dyo Aorakia” stadium as well as the hotel facilities in view of the European Championship which will be held in Heraklion, Crete, from October 26 to 31, and stated that they are fully satisfied.
The members of the Competition Committee of the Europe ITF Taekwon-do Federation, Jan Labik from Czech Republic and Lefteris Polydorou from Cyprus, were impressed by the stadium “Dyo Aroakia”, which they inspected along with the responsible for the event Dimitris Tsirakis, the president of the Organizing Committee of the Athletic Taekwon-do Federation of Hellas (A.T.F.H.), Anastasios Valasiadis, and the partner of the Federation, who is specialized in European Championship matters, Ilias Tzanidis.
“The stadium is of high standards and we are glad that the championship will be held here. We hope that, until October, the conditions will be much better, pandemic-wise, and there will be more spectators”, Mr Labik noted, while Mr Polydorou said that “The stadium is really great, the hotels are of high standards, Cretan hospitality is one-of-a-kind and all of these make us believe that the European Championship will be held with great success”.
